Mark Witt, General Manager
Mark graduated from Lynchburg College earning a Bachelors of Science in Bio-Medical Science. A Blue Mount Nursery employee since 2003, Mark focuses mainly on trees and shrubs. When not at work he likes spending time fishing with his family, participating in Goruck events, and home improvement projects.

Jason Hockensmith, Green House Manager
Jason began his 23 years of extensive greenhouse experience in 1992 working at Mountainside Gardens in Boonsboro, MD, eventually running the wholesale section of their greenhouse until 1999. From 1999-2006 Jason honed his skills by working as a Greenhouse Manager and Grower with Potomac Farms Nursery in Shepherdstown, WV. In the fall of 2006 Jason came aboard at Blue Mount Nursery as our Greenhouse Manager and Grower. In his spare time he enjoys gardening at home, hunting and fishing.
Scott Kenney, Perennial & Aquatic Manager
Scott has been working in Garden Centers since 1995.He has been the perennial manager at Blue Mount since 2001. Scott has his B.S. in Environmental Studies from Northland College. For 8 years Scott worked with the National Park identifying plants for visitors, leading to an interest in growing & gardening. After taking many college horticulture classes he taught 2 years of college courses on annuals & perennials. Scott is an avid bird watcher. He enjoys walks with his dog Ranger, fishing, and growing orchids and cacti. Scott is committed to living a “greener” lifestyle.
Kevin Holder, Wholesale Manager
Kevin began working in the nursery industry in 1997. He came to the Blue Mount family from 2000-2005. Kevin decided to leave the horticulture industry in 2006 to pursue a career in residential construction. Beginning of 2016, Blue Mount welcomed him back to work with the local industry professionals. A Scouter with his boys in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, as well as supporting his daughter in the Girl Scouts, he is a dedicated husband and loved family man.
Aaron Belkin, Outdoor Sales
Aaron is a landscape designer with over 20 years experience, creating unique landscapes throughout the Washington D.C. Metro area. He has designed and constructed projects on all different scales, from dressing up the area around a mailbox, to large scale master plans. His creativity and comfort using plants which are hardy to our region will help protect your projects investment. Aaron’s extensive landscape experience, along with his degree in interior design can help solve, even the most difficult, of landscape issues. Alice, Greenhouse Sales
Alice is our Greenhouse Goddess. She is experienced in all things houseplant/tropical and annual related. She is willing and able to help select the perfect pot with your purchase or assist you in planning out your annual planters. Alice is a Virginia native, having grown up in Falls Church. She has been involved in the service industry her whole adult life; working at Lowes Island Elementary School in the custodial services for 10 years, and later joining the Blue Mount family in 2005. Alice is an avid animal lover, and enjoys family time.
Tiffany, Hunny, Teddie & Ohana, Indoor Sales
Tiffany has been at the nursery for over 15 years. Even though she has her BS in Special Education, she loves working at the nursery! She has worked her way up from cashier to one of the main buyers.
Hunny and Teddie are Miniature Goldendoodles. Hunny was born in July 2011 and Teddie was born in June 2014. Ohana is a Dogo Argentino. She was born in March 2016.
Tiffany and the girls plan on staying here for years to come. Come in and say “Hello!!”
Brenda, Head Cashier
Brenda, Blue Mount’s Canadian, migrated South to Ashburn in 2009. With over 10 years experience in customer service Brenda is a wonderful addition to the Blue Mount team. She is the smiling face you’ll see at the check out counter, and the happy voice you’ll hear over the phone. In her free time, Brenda enjoys the outdoors and gardening with her husband. She also passes the time skyping with her grandchildren back in Canada.
Teddie, Hunny, Ohana, and Acer, Our Furry Customer Service Representatives
Although we have tried training them on the cash register… their true calling is in customer service.
